Does your HostGator page have to be a dot com?
Yes, yes it does. Stop reading. Well, I can tell you need more explanation than that. The first reason is trust. People who are less internet savvy still see .com as the most trusted domain extension. Second, people will often assume you have a dot com extension and type it in directly. Where will this lead them? I hope it isn’t a competitor’s site. So just stop being stubborn and keep looking for domain names with a .com extension. There are plenty of great ones still available. You just have to be creative. By the way, if you haven’t yet decided on hosting, I highly recommend that you make use of a Hostgator promo and choose Hostgator.
