Garbage And Identity Theft
My sister cleaned out her desk at home and without thinking threw all of her old mail in the garbage. One day a few weeks later she called me to say she has been a victim of Identity Theft. Someone went through her trash and took her information off her credit card statement. She just got a call from her credit card company saying they were seeing a lot of unusual activity on her account and wanted to know if she was the one using it. When she told them no it was not her they put a hold on her account. It is a good thing she has protection on her account and they will not hold her responsible.
